Roof As A Service: Biesmans Group wins prestigious award at Circular Buildings Coalition

Biesmans Group has received special recognition with its innovative project Roof As A Service. The project was selected as one of six winning initiatives of the Circular Buildings Coalition (CBC), out of an impressive total of 90 entries from across Europe. This award confirms our pioneering role in sustainable and innovative solutions within the construction industry.

What is Roof As A Service?

Roof As A Service is a circular, zero-CAPEX model for flat roofs. Instead of a large upfront investment, customers pay a fixed monthly fee for a flat roof that is guaranteed to be waterproof and insulated. Ownership and maintenance remain with us. This model encourages the use of sustainable, reusable materials and reduces end-of-life waste.

Why is this special?

After several product innovations, Biesmans Group is now also betting on business model innovation. Roof As A Service breaks through the traditional way of working in the construction industry and focuses on long-term performance instead of one-time sales. This fits perfectly with our vision of a future in which circular economy and sustainability are central.

‍TheCircular Buildings Coalition is a European partnership accelerating the transition to a circular construction sector. They bring parties together to support innovative projects that contribute to less material consumption, less waste and more reuse.

Financial support for further development

‍Asa winning project, Roof As A Service will receive a premium of €70,000. With this financial support, we can further develop the concept, test it in practice and prepare it for the market. Our goal is to roll out the model as the new standard for flat roofs, in Belgium and beyond.
