Biesmans Group €15,000 for three charities

Elk jaar kiest Biesmans Group drie goede doelen om te steunen. In 2024 waren dat CKG De Stap, Hippo & Friends, en Stichting Strijd voor Strijders. Doorheen het jaar organiseerden onze collega’s diverse acties om geld in te zamelen, wat resulteerde in een prachtige opbrengst van € 15.000. Elk goed doel ontving een cheque van € 5.000.

Unlike previous years, where the check presentation took place during our staff party, this year we decided to visit the charities ourselves. This gave us a chance to see for ourselves where the money raised goes and how it makes a difference.

CKG De Stap (Genk)

What does CKG De Stap do?
CKG De Stap is a child care and family support center that helps families with children ages 0 to 12 with parenting challenges. The organization provides temporary, low-threshold help to prevent parenting problems and strengthen families.

Waar gaat de donatie naartoe?
Met onze steun draagt Biesmans Group bij aan het project ‘Stap naar buiten: een groeiplek voor onze allerkleinsten’. Dit project transformeert de buitenruimte van CKG De Stap in een veilige en stimulerende speelomgeving voor baby’s en peuters. De donatie wordt onder andere gebruikt voor:

• Soft hills, stepping stones and crawling tunnels to promote motor development.
• A feel wall and music wall to stimulate sensory stimulation.
• Open-ended play materials for creativity and interaction.
• Shaded nooks for rest and relaxation.

What does Hippo & Friends do?
This organization is dedicated to helping people with type 1 diabetes. They focus on raising awareness, improving quality of life for diabetics and scientific research on the disease.

Where does the donation go?
Our contribution is spent on projects such as:

• DiaT1op and DiaT1op Kids, sports projects that help children and adults with type 1 diabetes stay active and healthy.
• Support scientific research for better treatments and possibly a cure for type 1 diabetes.

What does Fight for Fighters do?
This foundation raises money annually for a changing charity through athletic achievements and challenges. In 2025, this charity is raising money for Alzheimer's Netherlands, an organization dedicated to research and support for people with dementia.

Where does the donation go?
Our support helps Alzheimer's Netherlands:

• Research on prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
• Education and support for families and family caregivers.
• Improving quality of life for people with dementia.
