A new generation at the helm at Biesmans Group

In recent years, the Biesmans Group has been working on the next phase of the group’s development. We are now concluding this important chapter of transition: on July 11, 2026, Rudy Evens, Executive Chairman of the Biesmans Group’s subsidiary holding companies, will hand over his operational responsibilities. After 25 years of dedication and leadership at the Biesmans Group, Rudy Evens is stepping down. As a director at the group level, he will remain involved as an ambassador for the company and its values.

Adjustment of the organizational structure to accommodate the pace of growth

In recent years, Biesmans Group has been working on the next phase of the group’s development. In January 2025, Biesmans Group adopted a new structure necessary to maintain the group’s growth momentum. After all, the opportunities and challenges in today’s market vary significantly between contracting and distribution activities, as well as across the countries where we operate. Greater autonomy for the business units and countries was necessary. Under the parent holding company “Biesmans Group,” four subsidiary holding companies were therefore created, each with its own CEO and Board of Directors.

Rudy Evens remained “in charge” as executive chairman of the subsidiary holding companies. With his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the company, he played a crucial role in mentoring the new CEOs (Jeroen Janssen, Chris Venken, Piotr Szymczyk, and Kris Bloemen) and ensuring a smooth transition to the new structure.

Rudy Evens says proudly: “I look back with satisfaction on 25 wonderful years! The new CEOs are ready to take the reins! I am leaving the operational management in the capable hands of Jeroen, Kris, Piotr, and Chris. Continuity is assured.”

On January 1, 2026, Yves Biesmans succeeded his father, Jean, as chairman of the parent holding company, Biesmans Group. Starting in July, he will also assume the chairmanship of the subsidiary holding companies to support cohesion within the group, its strategic direction, and continued sustainable growth. Brothers Filip and Yves are co-shareholders and managing directors of Biesmans Group, and they uphold the family values within the group.

Building the group

Over a period of 40 years, Biesmans Group—a family-owned business with roots in Limburg—has grown into a company with annual revenue of 250 million euros and more than 700 employees in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Jean Biesmans founded “VHB” in 1981 as a roofing contractor, and in 2000 he acquired the large “Fabriek- en Asphaltondernemingen Dekkers NV,” a company twice the size of VHB at the time. It was then that Rudy Evens joined the company, forming a strong partnership with Jean that lasted for decades.

Jean: “During his long tenure as CEO of the group, Rudy helped build the Biesmans Group into what it is today. Together with my sons, Yves and Filip, we were a close-knit team. On behalf of the family, I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for his dedication and commitment.”

"Biesmans Group remains committed to innovation and growth," conclude Filip and Yves Biesmans. "With respect for the past, confidence in the current leadership, and a clear vision of the future, Biesmans Group continues to build, steadily and with ambition."
