Data Governance Officer

As Data Governance Officer , you’ll be the driving force behind improving our data quality and establishing a sustainable data organization. You ensure that data is reliable, consistent, and usable for operational and strategic decisions.
You will work closely with IT, business departments (purchasing, sales, logistics), and management.
Your responsibilities:
Establishing a data governance framework
- Defining data policies, standards, and processes
- Establishing data ownership (data owners and stewards)
- Establishing a data governance structure and scheduling regular meetings
Improving data quality
- Identifying data issues (e.g., product data, supplier costs, prices, customer data)
- Establishing data quality metrics and KPIs
- Implementing controls and workflows (e.g., validations in ERP/PIM)
Master Data Management (MDM)
- Organizing and managing key data such as products, suppliers, and customers
- Harmonizing data across systems (ERP, PIM, CRM, Excel, etc.)
- Support in setting up or improving a PIM/MDM solution
Process Optimization
- Analyzing data flows in processes (purchasing, sales, logistics)
- Eliminating manual errors and duplicate work
- Contribute to automation projects (e.g., within Microsoft 365 or ERP)
Awareness & Training
- Raising employee awareness about the importance of accurate data
- Training key users and data stewards
Is this role for you?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strongly process- and results-oriented
- Analytical, precise, and organized, with an eye for detail and process improvement
- Independent yet team-oriented, with a big-picture perspective
- Familiarity with IT and computer systems, proficiency in Excel, and experience with ERP systems
- Committed to keeping my knowledge up to date
- Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plus
